Blending the immediacy of street photography with the intimacy of portraiture, Father Figure explores the nuances of what it means to be a father, and to have one. Through candid scenes from the bustling streets of Berlin and New York, paired with intimate portraits of friends and their children, the photographer set out to examine the shades of the father-child relationship through frozen moments of tenderness, tension, and connection. Shot exclusively in black-and-white, the series heightens the viewer's sensitivity to the subtleties of touch, gaze, and presence by emphasizing contrast and light, offering a quiet meditation on the complexities of paternal bonds. Presented in the group exhibition “Kindheit (Childhood)” at Studio Siebzehntausend, Berlin, March–April 2025.
